On the Heels of a monumental economic slump, management now demands that marketing professionals quantify this new fangled Social Media monster&#8217;</em></p>
<p>Sådan indledte Jim Sterne dette års <a href="http://emetrics.org/sanjose/" target="_blank">Emetrics Marketing Optimization Summit</a> i San Jose. Et stort forum for analyse- og marketingfolk. Og således blev den uundgåelige sammenhæng mellem marketing og analytics yderligere understreget.</p>
<p>Deltagelsen på konferencen var stor og noter blev i år, i stor stil, kradset ned på de amerikanske deltageres nyerhvervede Ipads.</p>
<p>Med Jims ord var rammerne altså sat. Fokus i år var på eksekvering og måling af Social Media Marketing (SMM). Noget der er på agendaen i de fleste virksomheder, uanset deres modenhedsniveau inden for online marketing.</p>
<p>Indtrykket af, at vi generelt stadigvæk er umodne i forhold til håndteringen af SMM, og især det at måle effekten af vores tiltag, blev bekræftet på konferencen. Jeg talte med en del deltagere (fra virksomheder) om, hvor de var i forhold til at tæmme dette ’social media monster’, og ligeledes var der god dialog om det på de forskellige tracks (altid et udbytterigt element på amerikanske konferencer – folk holder sig ikke tilbage i debatten : ).</p>
<p>De fleste deltagere var stadigvæk i fasen, hvor de eksperimenterede med SMM, men de havde især udfordringer med at måle effekten af deres tiltag. Derfor var de inspirerende indlæg om, hvordan denne udfordring kan håndteres velkomne hos de fleste.<br />
De fleste indlæg om emnet ’measuring social media effect’ handlede om, hvordan man kommer i gang: Hvordan man etablerer en social mediestrategi, hvordan man strukturerer sine målsætninger og ikke mindst sin opfølgning på disse målsætninger.<br />
Især <a href="http://emetrics.org/sanjose/2010/speakers.php#paine" target="_blank">Katie Delahaye Paine</a> havde nogle gode pointer omkring brugen af online og offline data til bedre at kunne styre sine SMM tiltag.</p>
<p>Hvor fru Paine var meget hands on, præsenterede Jim Sterne i sin Key Note de overordnede rammer, udfordringer, og til dels også løsninger på det at måle og optimere sine SMM aktiviteter. Præsentationen afspejlede indholdet i hans nyeste bog <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Social-Media-Metrics-Marketing-Investment/dp/0470583789/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1273490573&amp;sr=8-1" target="_blank">Measuring Social Media</a>, der stadig var varm fra trykken, da vi modtog en kopi af den. Jeg er ved at være i hus med den (trods alt en 22 timers flyvetur : ), og den er klart anbefalelsesværdig!</p>
<p>Ligeledes fandt jeg, som altid, Avinash Kaushiks indlæg underholdende og inspirerende. Avinash er kendt som en, der har en resultatorienteret tilgang til webanalyse. Det afspejlede sig også i hans indlæg, der primært handlede om, hvilke trackingværktøjer der ifølge ham var mest egnet til at vurdere og optimere resultaterne af forskellige SSM tiltag. Avinash tester i snit 3-4 nye værktøjer på sin blog/site om måneden, så han har en solid referenceramme..<br />
Det handlede dog ikke alt sammen om sociale medier. Der var ligeledes gode indlæg om webanalysens andre udfordringer, muligheder, fordele, frustrationer…listen er lang : ).</p>
<p><a href="http://emetrics.org/sanjose/2010/tracks/keynotes.php#k05" target="_blank">Joe Megibow</a> fra Expedia, verdens førende udbyder af rejser online, var endnu engang blevet kørt i stilling til en Key Note. Denne mands inspirerende indlæg vil tilsyneladende ingen ende tage. At høre, hvordan Expedia gør brug af webanalyse til at optimere deres forretning er guf for øregangen. De har styr på det! De ved hvad der skal til for at opnå forretningsresultater med webanalyse – en sund balance mellem:<br />
<strong>Teknologi, processer og mennesker – og fokus på optimering!</strong></p>
<p>Det som jeg hæftede mig mest ved var, at Joe Megibows analyseafdeling (ja, de kender ikke til begrebet ’én webanalytiker’) har skabt så mange forretningsresultater, at de nu rent faktisk er blevet ansvarlige for det indhold, der skal lanceres på sitet. Set i lyset af, at det var dem der vidste bedst om, hvordan sitet performer, og ligeledes anbefalede hvad der skulle gøres, besluttede man at skære ’mellemfedtet’ fra. Webanalytikerne blev Product Managers – ejere af indhold – smukt : )!</p>
<p>Alt i alt en inspirerende konference. Den Skandinaviske <a href="http://emetrics.org/stockholm/" target="_blank">version</a> afholdes igen i år i Stockholm den 28-29. september. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Vi har ofte citeret store leverandører af infrastruktur for at den mobile andel af internettrafikken er stærk stigende og ditto analyse- og finanshuse for forecasts, der forudsiger mobil dominans inden for datatrafik om ganske kort tid.</p>
<p>Samtidig mødes vi dog også af kunder, der anser mobile web og mobile services som et niche- eller et fremtidsscenarie på deres respektive markeder. Det kommer selvfølgelig an på hvilket marked man opererer i. Men, at internetforbindelse fra mobiltelefonen er ved at blive mainstream, er det nuværende reklamebillede et godt eksempel på.</p>
<p>I massive reklamekampagner, med busstopplakater og reklamefilm er 3 af landets store mobiloperatører ude med ensarterede budskaber.  Både TDC, 3 og Telenor fortæller ikke længere om fede kameramobiler eller walkmanfeatures. De fortæller om mobiladgang til Facebook, Twitter og nyheder med flatrate-betaling. Det vigtigste salgsargument er altså ikke længere hardwarespecifikke tilbud, men den dataplan de tilbyder og de mange spændende services man får adgang til.</p>
<p>Det er en spændende udvikling, som alt andet lige giver flere af jeres kunder adgang til ubegrænset surfing på nettet. Det betyder selvfølgelig også, at de dermed er lette at komme i kontakt med når de sidder i bussen, venter på toget osv. <a href="http://blog.creuna.dk/2010/02/11/mobil-kommunikation-er-ikke-en-iphone-app/" target="_blank">Måske var det på tide at få en mobil strategi</a>?</p>

<p><strong>I kan lige så godt dreje nøglen om</strong><br />
Artiklen påpeger hvor enkelt det er at oprette en blog og kritisere en virksomhed og <em>&#8220;(&#8230;) får et firma sit rygte ødelagt, er der ofte ikke andet at gøre end at lukke forretningen&#8221;. </em>Men hvorfor tegne dette skræmmebillede? Kunder, borgere, forbrugere, patienter, klienter m.m. har alle dage reageret på virksomheders produkter, services og kommunikation. Nettet har blot gjort det nemmere at udveksle holdninger.</p>
<p><strong>Vi tager r*ven på dig og vil ikke høre om dit brok</strong><br />
Artiklen afrundes med at konstatere, at <em>&#8220;ofte er det kunder som er blevet snydt som opre</em><em>tter bloggene&#8221;</em>. Jamen, så har vi da vist fået identificeret det reelle problem! Hvis en biks snyder en kunde, har et elendigt produkt eller leverer dårlig service, så var det måske der at man skulle starte med at sætte ind? Derudover må man som virksomhed indse, at man ikke længere kan <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">kontrollere</span> manipulere opfattelsen af ens brand, produkt eller service. Dialogen foregår overalt. På blogs, Youtube, Facebook og Twitter. Via anmeldelser og reviews og i kommentarer til artikler på nyhedssites osv. osv.</p>
<p>Det handler ganske enkelt om at forholde sig til ens kunder i stedet for at snyde dem og efterfølgende prøve at lukke munden på dem. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I går løb den største amerikanske sportsbegivenhed endnu engang af stablen, og årets Super Bowl bliver altid imødeset med stor spænding. Dels pga. kampens udfald men også pga. den hype, der er omkring reklamerne. En reklame i pausen i Super Bowl er de dyreste minutter man kan købe sig til på TV, og der lægges et kæmpe arbejde i at lave nye, <a href="http://adland.tv/SuperBowlCommercials">fede reklamer</a> der kører før og under kampen.</p>
<p>I år valgte Pepsi at droppe al form for traditionel markedsføring omkring Super Bowl. Normalt bruger Pepsi 30 mio. $ på markedsføring i forbindelse med den store event. I år valgte man istedet at bruge 20 mio. $ på markedsføring via sociale medier. Indsatsen bestod i et projekt kaldet &#8220;<a href="http://www.refresheverything.com/">The Pepsi Refresh Project</a>&#8220;, hvor fans og <a href="http://www.nfl.com/partner?partnerType=refresh-project">spillere</a> udvalgte en række velgørenhedsprojekter i samarbejde understøttet af facebook, twitter med mere.</p>
<p>Der er altid megen omtale af, hvem og hvordan der markedsføres op til Super Bowl. Ved at satse på sociale medier førte det til, at Pepsi blev nævnt i ca. 20% af al omtale online af markedsføring i forbindelse med Super Bowl &#8211; ca. 10x mere end Coca Cola, som valgte at gå den mere traditionelle vej med TV-reklamer. Desuden blev Pepsi det mest omtalte brand i forbindelse med Super Bowl i det hele taget.</p>

Til forskel fra tidligere deler vi vores holdning til produkter og services i sociale medier, og vi forventer i stigende grad at kunne interagere med brands og virksomheder. Mooney og Rollins kalder os for ”icitizens”. Motivationen bag vores adfærd er et ønske om kompetenceudvikling, kollektivisme, forandring og berømmelse. Kompetenceudvikling motiverer 74% af os til at søge viden og værktøjer, der kan give os følelsen af, at vi følger med udviklingen. 16% af os motiveres af digital socialisering særligt med andre, der deler samme passion eller interesse som os selv. 7% konverterer til brand eller livsstilsevangelister, der med stor troværdighed taler på vegne af et fællesskab eller en virksomhed, f.eks. om et særligt produkt. Endeligt er der en marginaliseret gruppe på bare 1%, der hovedsageligt er på jagt efter anerkendelse og berømmelse.</p>
<p>Mooney og Rollins opstiller en model for disse fire typer af motivationer og tilhørende brugerprofiler.</p>

<p>Modellen viser, at hverdagens ”icitizen” – på trods af, at de tilhører majoriteten – har en svagere social gennemslagskraft end elitens ”icitizen”. Teoretisk set har alle imidlertid potentialet til at ”stige i graderne” i Mooney og Rollins’ model, da sociale netværk gør det muligt at foretage kvantespring henover de normale sociale, kulturelle og økonomiske skel.</p>
<p>Det er vigtigt at være disse brugerprofiler bevidst, hvis man skal kommunikere og markedsføre et brand i sociale medier. Du skal vide, hvorfor brugerne er tilstede i sociale medier er og lave en strategi for, hvordan du stimulerer den indflydelse, de respektive brugerprofiler har på netværket.</p>
